Courtney Yost recently received an award while attending the Midwest Community Development Institute conference in Moline and acting as a representative for Lawrence County. Yost was awarded the title of Class Champion-Year 1. The conference is a 3-year educational program for members of the community & economic development (CED) field. John Gruidl, Director of the Midwest Community Development Institute, explained that, “The Class Champion Award is given to an exceptional individual who demonstrates the qualities essential to community development, including engagement, passion, leadership, and cooperation.The award is especially coveted because the individual is selected by his/her peers.” The Year one class included individuals working in the CED field from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Courtney Yost is the Director of the Lawrence County Industrial Development Council and CED Educator for the University of Illinois Extension, Unit 25.
